If you want to get a lot of Internet traffic, one of the things you must do is blog. Blogging is a highly effective way to generate tons of site traffic and really bond with your prospects.

An Effective Formula

I have a little formula I call the ‘Ultimate Log Post’…

This formula brings tons of targeted traffic to my blog. A few of the keys to the ‘Ultimate Blog Post Formula’ are

Having Something to Say

Yes, you do need to give good, quality information, but if it is boring or if you don’t have an opinion, no one is going to want to read it. It is better to be hated by some and loved by others than liked by everyone.

You are also going to want to put a lot of your character into your blog. Make your blog funny and even a little controversial if that fits your personality.

Make it a little bit edgy and fun.

People are bored out of their minds these days, and if you can take them out of the context of their normal everyday life and make them feel like they are hanging out with you, a fun person, you’ll be way ahead of the pack.

Make It Personal

You want your readers to feel like they are hanging out and talking with you when they are reading your blog. You want them to feel like you are their best friend sitting at a bar with them, sharing a beer and talking shop.

The only difference between you and them is that you were once where they are now.

You were once just like them… and then you stumbled onto some secrets that brought you success and now you are sharing it with them.

Pictures

Adding pictures to your blog is a great way to make your posts more fun and interesting.

You want to format your blog for easy readability using a lot of bold text, a lot of lists and bullets and things like that. Breaking up the text and leaving a lot of white space on the page.

Keep it Funny and Interesting

Whenever you can make your blog posts funny. If you don’t know how to write anything that is funny, then go read some books on humor and get good at it. It will take your blog a long way.

Quality Information

You also want highly informative posts. Don’t just tell people a little bit about something, get in-depth in it and don’t make your posts a pitch for something else.

Make your posts complete.

One huge mistake that most bloggers make is that they make long, boring posts or start off a post about an interesting subject then don’t provide any real content.

Lots of bloggers also make posts that are literally pitches and up-sells for other products and services. You want your posts to be highly informative; don’t just make them a pitch for something else you have. Sure, you can sell other stuff on your blog, but don’t make your blog posts a pitch for some other thing.

Make your posts complete, highly informative and full of useful information.

Spread the Word

Once you start to master an effective blog formula you also want to get your blog out there.

One way to get a lot of traffic from or to your blog is to fire a lot of links at it, with the key words in the links, so you can get your blog found in the search endings,

You may also want to get active in the social media and social networking and bookmarking sites, like Twitter, and Stumble Upon.

Also, find five forums in your niche, and go post highly informative forum posts, and leave your link back to your blog in your signature.

Now don’t be self-promotional in these form posts. Just make them high quality informative posts. Point them back to your blog. You can get a lot of readers like this.

Reap the Rewards

Some people wonder how I’m able to make money off my blog.

Well it’s simple: I get a lot of consulting clients for my blog, I make some affiliate sales from my blog, plus, I have top experts from around the world take me out for different projects and things like that because they found me on my blog.

Once you have a blog, and it’s popular, then people can see that you have a high traffic ranking and this really positions you as an authority.

This makes it super easy to create relationships with just about any experts or celebrities in your industry.

I could go on and on about blogging all day.

The key is: blog, blog, and blog some more.

Do it on a consistent basis, stick to your schedule, pour your heart and soul into your blog posts, and make them fun. Follow this advice and you will be amazed at just how much business you can get from your blog.
